Beginning Again April 29, 2009

Hey guys,

My name is Erin Joy, and unlike my two friends, I have not quite found my niche in life yet. I’m the only one of the group who is still single, so I’ll be providing a little balance to the married women on that. I’m also living with my parents while I am between full-time jobs, so I spend much of my time watching other people’s children (many of whom you will probably hear a lot about) and searching for that next job.

Like Michelle, I have little idea how to start out a new blog. Sometimes I wonder what I have to say that hasn’t already been said (Ecclesiastes 1:9), so I plan to put a new spin on what already has. Hopefully, you will find my writings worth your time and come away from them enlightened or, at the very least, entertained.

Introduction: Ashley April 28, 2009

Today is my 24^th birthday, which is a pretty good time to be answering the question, “who am I?” My name is Ashley (despite my many attempts throughout middle and high school to come up with something cooler, thankfully, none of them stuck). I am a newlywed, so this is my first birthday as Ashley Barrett and it feels a world apart from all my other birthdays.

This year, I’m looking back on my life and thanking God for all the different stages of my existence marked by birthdays. Like two years ago, staying up all night with Erin in the publications lab at Bethel College, eating baked oatmeal, sleeping on the couch at Sufficient Grounds for 45 minutes waking up, smoothing out our hair and giving a presentation final in Portfolio Completion. It’s very different than where I am now (I’ll probably be in bed by 9:30 tonight) but I’m so glad for it and all the other memories I’ve accumulated.

So tell me, what are your birthday rituals? How do you mark stepping out of one age and into a new one?

What do I say to greet the (electronic) world? That hasn’t been said before by 25,362,142 other bloggers?
Hello.
I guess sticking to the basics usually works. I can’t think of anything inspired or even particularly interesting to say at the moment, so I’ll just introduce myself.
My name is Michelle. I’m a new mom (the most amazing thing in the world), so you’ll be hearing a lot about my son, Asher Mordecai Alvin Huegel. Cai, for short. I’m into scrapbooking, both paper and digital, and dabble in jewelry-making and online gaming. I’m a book-a-holic, and frequently read several books a week on my phone. I work at a cell phone store, so you may occasionally be subjected to rants about customer service, annoying customers, and my general frustrations with the cell phone industry.
So my blog posts may vary widely in topic, but hopefully tie together under the overused-but-true-nonetheless category of “life writing.”
